What About Writing a Book – Is It Worth It?

Have it ever come to your mind about writing a book? If you have not thought of that possibility, begin to think about it. Book writing is a project that is worth being pursued, regardless of the topic you want to write on.

If you decide to be a writer, be prepared to sacrifice and spend a very long time to this work. Be aware, however, that an investment that will give you many dividends lifelong.

If you want to write a book even start reserving a few hours a week to realize this plan. Do not sit over the thought like many others, take action and come up with a book fast.

You need to understand that the difficulty is not just about writing, because in addition to finding a good topic, you need to do substantial research to gather information that would be interesting to engage the reader.

It will be even harder to find a publisher willing to publish your book. Then you will have to work on getting it to the market and promoting it.

Amongst ten writers who make it to bookstores, at least eight complain for not having their books prominently displayed in bestsellers category. Others will not even complain because they know that will not make a huge difference.

The sellers have become so used to whining that they have developed their own explanations for each case, the most commonly used explanation is to say that there is the section devoted to the subject and the chance to sell is much higher in that section.

Some authors believe, others pretend to be convinced by the arguments and remain hopeful that one day their book becomes a best seller.

At this point you may be thinking, because I have to go through all this, best is to quit. This is a bad decision! Even assuming that you cannot publish the fact of researching and writing will be very important for personal development.

You reach the end of this journey much more experienced and prepared. Assuming that you can post and that the book was not a smash hit, do not focus on the result as a personal defeat because of the thousand or so books published every month only a few manage to stand out.

Think also to sell the book should not be a major concern. The important thing is to know that writing the book, you will have the rewarding opportunity to share your experience with others.

If you look at the best-selling authors, you will find that most change publishers frequently, because they always think that another publisher may do a better job. Every writer thinks his book is the best and should be better exposed.

And when they cannot sell as would the blame must be credited to someone, which generally falls on the publisher.

If you have difficulty writing, join a writing course. If you do not have the habit of writing, start producing short texts on everyday topics, just for practice. Find an experienced person who can give suggestions to help refine the result of your essay.

After you become more seasoned try to publish some articles in newspapers, magazines or websites, so you will have the opinion of others about your creativity as a writer. It may be that these articles will become the basis for future chapters of your book.

It’s going to require work and persistence, but over time you will feel more resourceful and competent to put ideas on to paper or computer word processor. Do not believe much in this story of inspiration as a writer, because what counts is the work and dedication.

Do not give up a dream before you try to do it. If you’re really interested in writing a book and feel that this is an important aspiration of your life, go ahead. Be aware that you will face difficulties and obstacles. Sometimes you will want to give up.

Even if you don’t make it big, at worst, you’ll be a better person, more competent and better prepared to face life and emerge victorious in life.
